American Express Global Business Travel (GBT) named Doug Anderson CEO Monday in an appointment that will be effective immediately.
Boasting more than three decades of global management experience, Anderson will be tasked with improving GBT's already strong growth track.
"Now more than ever, GBT is an innovator in travel management and a company that is forging the way toward a new definition of business travel," Anderson said in a statement accompanying this week's news. "With new technology offerings and the opportunity to continue to expand GBT's footprint, the company is on a clear path toward unparalleled success."
With Anderson, the former CEO of Carlson Wagonlit Travel, officially onboard, GBT's Chairman of the Board Greg O'Hara appears confident the organization has the talent in place to achieve its targeted growth.
"We are a proven, winning team backed by substantial investment, with a focus on the future," said O'Hara in a statement. "Our infrastructure transformation is nearing completion and our M&A activity is ramping up quickly."

"We are making and will continue to make sweeping technology investments to support our customers' ever-evolving requirements," added O'Hara.
Anderson's appointment comes one month after GBT annonced the launch of a new data visualization tool known as PREMIER INSIGHTS that combines American Express Corporate Cards and travel booking data into one platform.
Spun off of American Express just two years ago, GBT continues to invest in technology and products designed to help companies effectively manage travel.
