IATA Selects American Express Global Business Travel as TMS Provider

American Express Global Business Travel (GBT) announced this week that it has been chosen by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) to provide corporate travel management services, according to TravelDailyNews.com.
The Montreal-based trade association represents 250 airlines worldwide.
"We are delighted that the strength of our offering has been recognized by IATA," said American Express Global Business Travel's managing director for EMEA Elyes Mrad in a statement.
"We continue to invest in technology and solutions that allow us to respond to the specific requirements of our clients and, as in the case of IATA, deliver innovative solutions that help them maximize the value of their business travel spend."
GBT will provide the services in the IATA's regional offices located within the U.S., China, Jordan, Spain and Singapore as well as in Switzerland and Canada.
IATA's director of Corporate Administration and Procurement Wayne Wang acknowledged that "getting the highest quality and best value for our travel spend is critical," adding that "we have selected American Express Global Business Travel to manage our corporate travel program with high expectations."
"We look forward to flexible and creative travel solutions from American Express Global Business Travel that will help our business travelers to stretch their travel dollar and make the most of our corporate travel program," added Wang.
In support of the IATA's business travel program, GBT is prepared to provide services that include travel booking fulfillment like air, hotel and rental car reservations, client servicing support, a custom-designed offline servicing platform that GBT will develop and manage, as well as management information and statistics.
