Consider making and breaking a few resolutions aboard some of the nation’s more inviting New Year’s Eve railroad excursions.
Many of you are preparing to pop bottles at home or abroad, but you might just consider doing so within the classic confines of a romantic train getaway.
Here are just a few that we are targeting as we traipse ever so quickly to the end of what has been a bountiful 2015.
As the website states, those in Northern California can “Ride into 2016 with dinner, music, and champagne.”
You can make things as intimate as you like, staying at your table with friends and family or cut a rug on the dance floor. In any case, midnight means champagne.
The fun starts at 10:30 p.m. local time and features wine and cheese for the adults and pizza and pop for the kids.
The two-hour tour also includes fireworks, which is the perfect way to celebrate the memories of the year past and the possibilities of a 2016 that is to come.
Things get swanky aboard this train that will also include a prime rib dinner. Of course, the fancy attire and music will only complement that delicious champagne toast at midnight.
We hate to say it, but the above excursion is sold out, but you may want to keep it on your radar for next year because it’s amazing.
As the website states, “The owners of the Moonlight Dome and Birch Grove are going to spend New Year’s Eve in New Orleans with their families and friends on board their private cars. This ‘at cost’ charter will take 24 passengers to New Orleans from Chicago.”
If we are talking breathtaking journeys, the one held by the Bellagio Resort demands your attention.
The website elaborates: “Join us on a special New Years holiday that features one of the most stunning places in all North America to welcome the New Year, the magnificent Grand Canyon, in all of its pristine winter glory, without crowds and with brilliant sunlit days.”
Take in all that Georgia has to offer in a New Year’s Eve excursion that will run you $75 or $130 for you and your special significant other.
Lastly, nurse that gnarly hangover with class aboard a brunch train that welcomes all you groggy travelers on New Year’s Day.
