Rail company Amtrak has announced a partnership with Twentieth Century Fox to celebrate the release of the new film, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul, which debuts in theaters May 19.
The new movie is based on the best-selling book series and will focus on the Heffley family's road trip to attend their grandmother's 90th birthday party. The trip goes awry as Greg schemes to attend a video gaming convention along the way. As a result, the cross-country adventure turns into an experience the Heffley family will never forget.
To commemorate the release of the new Twentieth Century Fox movie, Amtrak is highlighting its everyday 50-percent off fares for children. The offer applies to most Amtrak trains almost every day of the year.
"We are proud to partner with Twentieth Century Fox on this film," Amtrak executive vice president of marketing and business development Jason Molfetas said in a statement. "The discounts for kids that Amtrak provides makes family travel affordable and fun."

The everyday discount allows up to two kids between the ages of two and 12 to travel at the half-price fare with each passenger paying the full adult fare. Children under two are allowed to travel for free but are not entitled to a seat.
Amtrak previously teamed up with DreamWorks Animation to celebrate the big screen debut of the film, The Boss Baby.
