Enjoy renting from Avis Car Rental? Feel like getting behind the wheel of a Maserati? It's your lucky day then.
The 2015 Ghibli, Maserati's newest creation, has been added to Avis' United States rental fleet and is now available at select Avis locations.
Avis called the Ghibli "an extraordinary sports sedan featuring a 3.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V6, an engine designed to achieve even lower fuel consumption and emissions while delivering stunning performance. The result is outstanding versatility in terms of use, combined with extremely impressive torque and 345 horsepower."
"Many Avis customers are aficionados of exotic motor vehicles, while others simply enjoy the combination of superior performance and luxury styling, and the Maserati Ghibli is a perfect example of a car designed for just such motorists," Joe Ferraro, president, Americas, Avis Budget Group, said in a statement. "This is a classic European sports sedan that is as beautiful to look at as it is fun to drive, and is a great way to add extra enjoyment to holiday travels."
The luxury rental is just one component of a burgeoning auto rental market.
Transparency Market Research, an Albany, N.Y.-based intelligence firm, last year published a report titled, "Car Rental Market - Global and U.S. Industry Analysis, Size, Share, Growth, Trends and Forecast, 2013-2019." The firm found that the global car rental market was valued at $36.89 billion (USD) in 2013 and is expected to reach $79.46 billion by 2019.
Some of the primary growth factors for the global car rental market are increasing volume of tourists, both overseas and in domestic travel; better roads and infrastructure; growing disposable income which permits frequent travelling; and increasing GDP levels.
Maserati's new sports sedan is the latest addition to the Avis Signature Series, a collection of fine automobiles featuring high-end design and performance. Other vehicles in the Avis Signature Series include the Chevrolet Corvette, Lincoln Navigator, Infiniti QX60, Mercedes GL450, BMW X5, the BMW 3 Series Sedan and the BMW 5 Series Sedan.
The Ghibli is available at select Avis locations in Dallas, Orlando, Las Vegas, Los Angeles (including the new Avis location opening in Beverly Hills), Phoenix, San Francisco and South Florida.
