Enterprise Predicts Weekend Getaways Will Dominate 2016
As people begin preparation for their vacations in 2016, Enterprise Rent-A-Car revealed a study that indicates travelers will be hitting the road for more weekend getaways than any other preferred vacation format.

To continue Amtrak’s commitment to sustainability, the company is more focused than ever on the conservation of fuel and energy, expanding sustainability practices to its more than 300 trains and over 500 destinations.

Chicago Launching Mandatory Taxi Cab App
In an effort to streamline the taxi industry in Chicago, the city announced the launch of a taxi app service that will require all cab drivers to sign up for and use. The decision makes Chicago the first city in the United States with a universal smartphone app for taxi drivers and companies.

Lyft Adding Focus to Customers with Medical Needs
Ride-sharing service Lyft has teamed with the National Medtrans Network in New York City to help customers in need by fulfilling rides to non-emergency medical appointments. The long-term goal will be to help seniors and all patients get to the doctors when needed.


From now through Feb. 14, Amtrak passengers on the West Coast will have the chance to enjoy the extra Superliner coach car being added to the California Zephyr to accommodate for the increased traffic due to excellent skiing conditions.

With less of a demand for ride-sharing services during the winter months, Lyft will be automatically lowering prices starting Jan. 15 to entice more people to use the app.

On Monday, luxury tourist train company Rocky Mountaineer announced that former executive vice president and chief financial officer Steve Sammut has been named the president of the company.
