Avis Budget Group Named to Multicultural Business Opportunities List
In an honor bestowed by, Avis Budget Group, Inc. has been named one of "America's Top 50 Organizations for Multicultural Business Opportunities for 2016." Avis Budget Group is the only car rental company on the annual ranking.

Arianna Huffington Joins Uber’s Board of Directors
Ride-hailing service Uber has announced that media entrepreneur Arianna Huffington will join the company’s Board of Directors. Uber CEO Travis Kalanick welcomed Huffington, and said her influence will help make the company more personable.

REPORT: Dallas Love Field Looking to Build Huge Rental-Car Facility
Officials at Dallas Love Field are reportedly looking to build a single rental-car facility at the airport that will cost an estimated $230 million to $270 million to build. The state won’t pay for the construction, though, as officials want to add more customer facility charges to foot the bill.

Amtrak Prepares for Southeast’s Biggest Memorial Day Parade
Amtrak has joined forces with North Carolina’s passenger rail service, NC By Train, and the city of Thomasville to offer passengers the easiest way to travel to the largest Memorial Day Parade in the Southeast United States.


Officials from French startup peer-to-peer car rental company Drivy announced that it has raised 31 million Euros (around $35 million) to fund its continued growth across Europe.

Car sharing network Zipcar, the Oregon Department of Transportation and Amtrak Cascades have teamed up to launch “Zip and Ride,” a partnership to locate Zipcars within walking distance of three Amtrak train stations in Oregon.

Enterprise Holdings’ Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer Greg Stubblefield addressed the future of the car rental industry with autonomous vehicles at a panel called “The Future of Land Use in a Region of Driverless Cars.”

Auto Europe has released the results of the first quarter of 2016 and trends for the summer. The study includes a map outlining the most popular pickup country booked by residents of each U.S. state and the top 10 most popular pickup destinations for U.S. and Canadian residents.
