The Hertz Corporation is one of the largest rental car companies in the world, and one of its subsidiaries, Hertz Guatemala, is celebrating its 50th year of operation with the opening of a new headquarters.
According to a press release from Hertz, the company is opening new facilities that will act as headquarters, customer service office and vehicle service center. Originally established at Guatemala City Airport, Hertz Guatemala now owns 10 locations across the country, including Guatemala City, Antigua Guatemala, and Flores in Peten.
Hertz International Group president Michel Taride spoke in a press release about what 50 years of service means to the company and to the Latin American region:
“Hertz Guatemala's latest achievements are a testament to the company's continuous efforts towards innovation and sustainability. We are glad to celebrate 50 years of strong presence in Guatemala, one of the first Latin American countries Hertz has operated in and where it currently holds a leading position. Hertz Guatemala's growth during the last few years ensures travelers and local citizens alike the high level car rental service they expect from a global brand.”
What makes the new Hertz facilities so exciting is the addition of state-of-the-art technology that has helped it become, “the first and only car rental company in the country to have received The GREAT Green Deal Certification of Sustainable Tourism.”
Many of the upgrades to the Hertz Guatemala facilities have to do with the company’s effort to go green. The GREAT Green Deal Certification is a result of the Hertz Corporation’s decision to recycle rain water for cleaning cars and all the electric appliances being certified as energy efficient.
