Lyft Giving Back During Holiday Season
The holiday season is a time for giving presents, and ride-sharing service Lyft is looking to make this time of year even more special by giving back to customers and those in need.
For customers who use the service, Lyft is offering anyone in Austin, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Seattle, San Francisco and Washington, D.C., the opportunity to find the company’s cars which will be filled with presents.
On Wednesday, Dec. 16 and Thursday, Dec. 17, passengers who are matched with a Gift Roulette car when they request a ride will be allowed to choose from any of the gifts found inside the vehicle.
Passengers only get one chance to make a selection, though, so choose wisely. Some of the gifts include a Star Wars BB8 Droid, a Swagway hoverboard, a “Christmas Story” leg lamp, a signed copy of Bush by Snoop Dogg or a personalized billboard in Times Square.
In addition to giving back to Lyft customers, the company has teamed up with PayPal to help ride-sharing service users donate to Meals on Wheels America. When customers tip their driver $5 or more between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. local time, PayPal will donate $5 to the charity.
PayPal will double their donation to $10 for people who pay for Lyft with the service, up to a total of $100,000. As you can see by all the giving, Lyft is already in the holiday spirit.
