On Thursday, National Car Rental announced it will begin offering complimentary Emerald Club Lounges at select airports in the United States starting next week.
The National Emerald Club lounges will offer travelers free Wi-Fi, charging stations and access to tablets and televisions.
The pop-up facilities will be accessible for all passengers when they open in Boston’s Logan International Airport, Chicago’s O'Hare International Airport, Sacramento International Airport, Lambert–St. Louis International Airport and Washington Dulles International Airport next week.
While the National Emerald Club lounges will be a welcomed addition to the five popular airports, they will on remain there until April 2017 when they travel to new airport locations in summer 2017. The locations will continue to be selected based on the percentage of passengers who travel for business.
“We understand that travel—particularly business travel—can be tiring,” National Car Rental Vice President Rob Connors said in a statement. “So National developed the Emerald Club Lounge to provide a convenient place at the airport where travelers can relax and recharge while interacting with the brand in a unique way. This is our second year offering the in-terminal lounges, and we’ve received great feedback from travelers who have had the chance to enjoy them before they board their flights or during layovers.”
The National Emerald Club lounges will be found post security in one terminal per airport. The facilities will be open 24/7 with a National staff member on duty from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. local time, Monday through Friday.
Travelers can also learn about the National app and enroll in the Emerald Club while relaxing in the lounges. For more information on National’s Emerald Club Lounges, check out the car rental company’s official website.
