Steampunk enthusiasts will converge on the Strasburg Rail Road in Pennsylvania this October for the third annual Steampunk unLimited festival.
Starting on Oct. 16 and running through Oct. 18, Steampunk fans will celebrate the Victorian Era and Industrial Revolution with themed live music, train rides, games, food and all-around festivities worthy of the genre.
The biggest attractions of the festival are the 45-minute steam train rides that the Strasburg Rail Road has become known for. Not only will it offer Steampunk enthusiasts the chance to ride on a piece of history, but it will also give them a beautiful view of Pennsylvania Dutch Country.
Steampunk unLimited will also feature live entertainment. From the Miracle Elixir Side Show to live musicians like Abney Park, Eli August and the Abandoned Buildings, This Way to Egress and Frenchy and the Punk, there will be something for every fan of the genre at the three-day event.
Add in a Steampunk unLimited Ball, an absinthe cocktail tasting, Victorian-style dinners, mechanical shop tours and even Steampunk self-defense demonstrations, and the festival will live up to the hype from enthusiasts.
For those just starting to get into the craze, there will be shops set up selling Steampunk clothing, jewelry, art, ceramics and much more. For more information on the festivities, check out the Strasburg Rail Road’s official website.
