Miami is already a top destination for travelers looking to enjoy a beach vacation, but those who want to arrive at Miami International Airport now have a new train station within walking distance to make the journey easier.
According to Michael Turnbell of The Sun Sentinel, Tri-Rail opened its $92 million station Sunday morning just east of the airport. Using the shuttle, it’s a five-minute ride from the terminal to the airport.
The new airport station is in the same location as the original station, which was closed in 2011. Building the facility and all the surrounding construction projects took nearly four years to complete, two years longer than originally projected.
The official Twitter of Tri-Rail shared an image of the new station:

The train facilities also can save commuters money on parking. Visitors can leave their car in the Tri-Rail parking lot for free, based on a first-come, first-serve basis. There is no time limit on leaving vehicles in the lot at the airport station.
As for the station itself, travelers looking to make a journey around the area can find “Tri-Rail, Metrorail, Miami-Dade's county bus system, Amtrak, Greyhound and a rental car center all under one roof.”
With everything now so close to the Miami International Airport, traveling to the Southern Florida city should be much less of a burden for visitors.
