Ride-sharing company Uber is helping customers during the Halloween weekend by offering tips and advice for staying safe on the busy holiday.
Halloween is Saturday, Oct. 31, but the weekend will be filled with parties and youngsters filing into the streets for the festivities. It’s imperative that Uber users and drivers all stay safe and avoid any danger.
A good starter tip for passengers is to check the fare for your ride. To avoid surge pricing, users can get a fare estimate on the Uber app to get a rough estimate of what they should expect cost-wise to ensure no funny business.
For those worried about the price still, consider inviting friends to share a ride by using the uberPOOL option if it’s available in your city and splitting the cost.
Safety is a major concern for people today, and Uber wants to make its customers feel secure. In order to do so, the company will give users their driver’s car model, license plate information and phone number to ensure they are getting in the right car.
Another tip that many travelers could forget on Halloween is the potential damage their costumes can do to a car. Between makeup, fake blood and enough glitter to sink a ship, avoid a cleaning fee by keeping your costume in order and off the upholstery.
One final tip for Uber users is to not forget your personal items in the car. If you do, however, simply contact your driver and report the missing item. You can also contact the company’s support center.
Now go have fun and enjoy Halloween!
