So, that Uber self-driving experiment doesn't seem to be going all that well.
A YouTube video going viral at the moment purports to show an Uber driving under an automated system running a red light somewhere in San Francisco. The video was uploaded to YouTube by Charles Rotter on December 14 and already, as of this writing, boasts over 480,000 views.
It seems to be footage taken from a dashcam belonging to a car that stops at a red light, something we highly recommend of human and non-human drivers.
At about nine seconds into the brief video, a car with a rig on its roof completely blows past the red light. Moments later, a (thankfully) well-aware pedestrian crosses.
We have been inundated with news of the future of automotive enjoyment and have been promised that it comes bearing treasures for the lazy. Soon, we have been told, we will be whisked around town by self-driving cars.

Recently, TravelPulse reported that Uber rededicated itself to the endeavor by incorporating Geometric Intelligence for what would be known as Uber's AI Labs. It's this arm that will continue to push the artificial intelligence envelope and further Uber as a leader in the field. It seems like a foregone conclusion that we will, at some point, enjoy a great deal more self-driving technology.
However, before we can all truly let go of the wheel there are bound to be some speed bumps. Thankfully, nobody was injured in the making of this video.
