AmaWaterways co-founder Rudi Schreiner was inducted into the Cruise Lines International Association’s Hall of Fame on Thursday, PR Newswire reported.
Schreiner was given the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award, which is presented at the annual Cruise360 Hall of Fame Cruise Industry Awards dinner to one person who has contributed significantly to promoting cruise travel to the public, according to PR Newswire.
Schreiner has worked in the industry since his early 20s and is known affectionately as the "Godfather of River Cruising," the news service said.
The association mentioned the many programs, services and amenities that Schreiner and his wife and co-owner, Kristin Karst, developed for the cruise industry, PR Newswire said.
"I know that I speak on behalf of the entire AmaWaterways family in saying how proud we are of Rudi for all that he has achieved through his hard work, passion and energy," Karst told PR Newswire. "Rudi's innovative spirit and dedication to his business partners, the travel agent community, and the AmaWaterways team and crew have helped create the long-lasting relationships that have made our company what it is today."
