The next big thing-literally-from AmaWaterways is soon on its way.
The AmaMagna will set sail in May 2019 at almost twice the width of traditional European riverboats, filled with grand amenities to match.
"I've had this unique ship on my mind for many years and am confident that now is the time to introduce my vision," explained Rudi Schreiner, Co-Owner & President AmaWaterways.
Currently under construction at the Vahali shipyard in Serbia, the AmaMagna already sports the same sleek profile as the rest of the fleet with double the expectation inside. The great video embedded below shares a bit of the building process including the installation of the swimming pool and exciting water sports platform of all innovative things.
Some of the greatest benefits of an expansive width are fewer constraints on cabin size. That translates to river staterooms closer in size to those found on ocean cruise ships. In practice, most will measure in at 355 square feet and showcase outside balconies.
More importantly inside, bathrooms will be similarly spacious. Many will have double sinks and a deluxe walk-in shower. Thankfully, gone are the days of bumping into tight enclosures.
Continuing in the vein of good living will be an onboard Health & Wellness Studio complete with retractable windows for group classes. A Wellness Host will lead stretching, cardio and circuit training, or guests will be able to head out on the walking and jogging track at their leisure.
There will also be wellness lectures, optional golf programs, spa massage services, healthy food options and detox water infused with citrus, herbs and spices or gemstones.
Lastly, AmaWaterways' signature service will be showcased on the AmaMagna. As someone who has sailed on the AmaKristina previously, I can attest to the personable Cruise Manager, staff in the dining room and beyond. On the bigger riverboat to come, I can only imagine how the crew will expertly sustain such levels of dedication from the friendly Captain down.
The countdown has begun and is ticking away at the cruise line's preview page here, where you can continue to follow along as the ship approaches.
