Despite new restrictions on travel to Cuba being enforced by the Trump administration, cruising still remains one of the most popular ways to access the island nation-and one of the easiest.
Earlier this month, Norwegian Cruise Line announced that it would add a second ship sailing to Havana.
The Norwegian Sun is repositioning to Port Canaveral in May of next year after a dry-dock enhancement. When it emerges, the ship will begin sailing four-day, all-inclusive cruises to Cuba.
Sailings call in Key West and arrive in Havana early the following morning, giving guests a full day and evening to explore the city.
Extensive cultural immersion opportunities are available, including those focused on rum, cigars, art, dance, music and more.
For example, guests can choose the Art of Cuba, Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow. The excursion includes a visit to the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, as well as the Palacio de Bellas Artes and the Palacio del Centro Asturiano-the two buildings that comprise the museum.
Guests will also see the Muraleando community art project that showcases Cuba's modern art during the "Special Period," which took place after the collapse of the Soviet Union. The project was created to teach art to children and raise the spirits of the Cuban people.
For those who want to taste some of Cuba's previously forbidden offerings such as legendary rum and cigars, there's the Cuban Rum, Cigars & Art tour. Havana is the perfect place to combine the brilliant artwork of the country with its famous vices.
Guests visit the Cerro municipality-one of Havana's oldest neighborhoods. Visitors will also stop at the Bocoy Rum Factory. The Casa del Habano is next-known as one of the finest cigar shops in the country. The tour wraps up with an exploration of Afro Cuban art as well as a stop to engage with local people at Callejón de Hammel in downtown Havana, where art, religion and music come together.
Guests can take advantage of a limited-time offer. Those booking new cruises between now and August 31, 2017, for 2017 and 2018 Cuba cruises will receive an onboard credit of $50. Guests who book before August 7, qualify can take advantage of $50 deposits, as well.

Cruise Ship Enhancement
The Norwegian Sun will spend two-and-a-half weeks in dry dock as part of the Norwegian Edge revitalization plan, a $400 million fleet wide upgrade program that began in 2015 and is dedicated to upgrading cruise ships, ports and culinary offerings.
Ship refurbishments vary, but one of the main focuses is to upgrade dining options. Specialty restaurants will have upgraded menus, and dining rooms will feature upgraded offerings such as prime rib and rack of lamb.
