Carnival Cruise Line announced that it has agreed to a multi-year partnership with the New Orleans Saints.
The goal is for the two brands to assist each other in expanding their profiles in the Big Easy.
As part of the deal, the Saints' home stadium, the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, as well as the team website will feature Carnival advertisements. Plus, fans attending Saints' home games will have a chance win free Caribbean cruises out of New Orleans through the "Helmet Shuffle" contest.
On the flipside, Carnival will host "Saints Sailgate Sailaway" football-themed deck parties aboard its two New Orleans-based cruise ships, the Carnival Dream and Carnival Elation, which will be replaced by the newer and larger Carnival Triumph in April 2016.
On top of the activities at sea, Carnival will support the franchise's Read and Rise program promoting children's literary in New Orleans.
In a statement, Saints owner Tom Benson said Carnival and the Saints "are committed members of the greater New Orleans community who share similar objectives in regards to enhancing the combined economic impact of our partnering brands on the city and region."
"Carnival has been a part of the New Orleans community for more than 20 years, and this partnership with the Saints offers fans a variety of opportunities to engage with the team and, just like on board our ships, provides an environment that creates a lifetime of wonderful memories," Carnival President Christine Duffy said in a statement.
As Duffy alluded to, the partnership makes tons of sense considering Carnival is the largest cruise line operating out of New Orleans, having sailed year-round from Lousiana's largest city for the past two decades.
Carnival's two ships currently based out of New Orleans sail a variety of itineraries to destinations including the Caribbean, Bahamas, Florida and Mexico.
