On schedule for its April 2018 debut, Carnival Cruise Line's next new Carnival Horizon is progressing towards completion at the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera, Italy. The 133,500-ton ship is currently under construction.

Among the venues being built are a Dr. Seuss-themed WaterWorks aqua park and the Seaside Theatre complete with 270-square-foot poolside LED screen. Elsewhere, there will also be a large selection of other dining and entertainment options inside and al fresco.
On April 2, 2018, Carnival Horizon will first embark on a 13-day Mediterranean sailing from Barcelona. Leaving from the Spanish homeport, there will be a total of four round-trip cruises, including this one. Then, the ship will head across to the U.S. on a 14-day trans-Atlantic crossing from Barcelona to New York on May 9-23, 2018 for a summer season of four-day Bermuda and eight-day Caribbean voyages from the metropolitan city.

Later, the Horizon will reposition to Miami, Florida for its year-round six- and eight-day Caribbean itineraries. Initially, a two-day cruise will sail to Nassau on September 20-22, 2018 before regular sailings commence on September 22, 2018.
Following behind Carnival Horizon is yet another Vista-class ship to launch in 2019. Also already being built, the as-yet-unnamed vessel will be the third in the series behind Horizon and the namesake Carnival Vista.
