Honoring its longtime partnership with the Port of Mobile in Alabama. Carnival Cruise Line hosted a Seuss-a-Palooza event for children attending the YMCA of South Alabama Summer Camp program.
The event took place onboard the Carnival Fantasy, which homeports in the city year-round.
Carnival made good on its commitment to supporting its homeport communities by making a $20,000 donation to the YMCA of South Alabama during the event.
"The event today was a terrific opportunity to celebrate our long-standing relationship with the Port of Mobile and demonstrate that we're proud to be community partners," said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. "The partnership with Dr. Seuss Enterprises is unique to Carnival and we were happy to share this fun experience with such a great group of kids from the Mobile area."
The festivities showcased the Seuss at Sea program available fleetwide on Carnival ships, featuring the Green Eggs and Ham Brunch with The Cat in the Hat and Friends. There was a special Seuss-a-Palooza Story Time and Parade as well as other activities that are also onboard for guests sailing with Carnival.
This includes Dr. Seuss Bookville-a special space where families can read on the ship-character interactions, Dr. Seuss toys and games, movies and more.
In addition to Dr. Seuss themed activities, children sailing on the Carnival Fantasy will enjoy the WaterWorks aqua park with a 300-foot-long slide and a kiddie splash area. There are also a variety of supervised programs for children ages two to 17, which allow parents to enjoy some of the more adult-friendly options onboard.
