With its much awaited debut less than a year away, the Carnival Vista has completed its dry dock phase and was recently floated out to a new location at Italy's Fincantieri shipyard, Carnival Cruise Line has announced.
The cruise ship, which is scheduled to be delivered in April 2016 and will set sail on its maiden voyage on May 1, 2016, just recently launched at the shipyard. A coin ceremony was held to recognize the completion of work on the exterior last month.
In addition to the newest, the Carnival Vista will be the largest among the cruise line's fleet, coming in at a whopping 133,500 tons.
The ship's amenities will include a pair of Carnival firsts in an onboard brewery and an IMAX Theatre. The SkyRide suspended cycling experience is another highly anticipated attraction sure to set the Carnival Vista apart and entice first-time cruisers.
Guests aboard the new ship will also have access to mini-bowling and miniature golf, among other activities.
The ship's staterooms, which include Havana themed accommodations, will also feature a unique twist.
The Carnival Vista will cruise out of Europe from May to October of next year before heading to New York, which will serve as the ship's home port for one month before it moves to Miami in late 2016.
