Celebrity Cruises has announced the launch of a more immersive experience for guests sailing the Caribbean in 2016 and beyond.
The Miami-based Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. subsidiary's new "Evenings Around the World" shore excursions, designed to help guests experience the Caribbean rather than only see it, feature more than a dozen new nighttime activities.
Guests aboard more than three dozen Caribbean cruises will have access to events like bonfires, live music, boat parties, wine tastings and more.
"We have created 'must-do' experiences to give our guests a unique way to enjoy the vibrancy of the Caribbean at night," said Celebrity Cruises president and CEO Lisa Lutoff-Perlo in a statement. "More time at the port means more time to explore, and we now offer more overnights, more excursions and more of the Caribbean than any other cruise line."
"We are taking vacationers beyond the ordinary to capture firsthand what makes each island truly special," she added.
The spiced-up shore excursions are available at a handful of Caribbean destinations, including Aruba, Curacao and Barbados. Travelers can book them anytime and prices range anywhere from $45 to $239 per person.
The announcement is accompanied by news that Celebrity Cruises will offer overnight stays on more than 40 Caribbean sailings scheduled to depart during and after January 2016, the most of any cruise line.
