WHY IT RATES:C'mon, everybody buys souvenirs on vacation. But this isn't exactly a 'Mom and Dad Went To Vegas and All I Got Was This Shirt' kind of thing. This is an exclusive collection that you can ONLY get on-board. - Rich Thomaselli, TravelPulse Senior Editor

In conjunction with Milan Fashion Week, Costa Cruises is launching a new clothing and accessories collection created with SLAM, a traditional Genoese brand with nautical roots that specializes in technical clothing and sportswear. The "Capsule Collection" will be available exclusively in Costa's onboard shops.
The collection is inspired by the colors of the sea, beginning with blue, which is also the distinctive color of the Costa "C" painted on the stack of the cruise company's ships. The casual line blends Italian design with quality materials, for an unmistakable style that evokes sea voyages but that is also perfect for leisure time in the city. Each item is personalized with Costa's and SLAM's logos, Genoese companies that are icons of Italian excellence around the world.

The collection includes men's and women's garments and accessories. In the men's collection one of the most distinctive items is a lightweight, navy blue windjacket, made with nylon and padded with Primaloft®.
Other items include polo shirts in Techno piquet, a light fabric that is ideal for outdoor activities because it is resistant to UV rays, easy to wash and does not need to be ironed. Men's models are available in two styles: a basic version in yellow, blue and navy blue, and another with nautical details, like the geographic coordinates of Genoa, where Costa and SLAM are headquartered. Women's polos are offered in blue and pink and a sleeveless style is available in white with an elegant blue-striped collar.

The line also includes sweatshirts, sweaters, hoodies, shirts and jogging pants and accessories like a practical trolley, back-packs and an iPad case.
SLAM garments are designed in Genoa and internationally recognized for their technical characteristics and extreme attention to detail. Thanks to the partnership with Costa, the large number of people who come onboard to enjoy a Costa cruise will have the chance to become more familiar with the value and legacy of this historical Italian brand.
