Many people go back and visit the places they love the most more than once. Some even choose to extend their stays so that they can spend more time there. But what about going back 99 times?
Bernard and Janice Caffary of Lakeland, Florida will embark on their 100th cruise this Sunday, March 15th aboard the Carnival Sensation.
“It really is amazing and a real testament to the Carnival brand,” Carnival’s senior public relations manager Vance Gulliksen said. “We have had someone do 33 consecutive voyages but never anyone do 100 voyages on one vessel before.”
The majority of the cruises the Caffary’s have taken went out of Port Canaveral and they have cruised with Carnival a total of 142 times. They have said that the reason they keep coming back isn’t so much the ship as it is the crew.
“The Caffary’s are so well known that they and the crew have become like family,” Gulliksen said. “They have sailed from Port Canaveral so much that even the people working for the port know them..”
Carnival is going the extra mile for them this Sunday with banners, a video tribute, and a framed Carnival Flag signed by the captain as well as other onboard courtesies. They are then going to gather 100 Carnival team members, each one symbolizing a cruise that the Cafffery’s took, and take a great photo as a keepsake. Talk about brand loyalty!
