Cruise Planners Shows Huge Increase in Sales This Year
Cruise Planners is experiencing huge increases in cruise sales so far this year. “Cruise purchases are up 25 percent over this period last year,” CFO Tom Kruszewski said at the network’s mid-year conference aboard the new Norwegian Breakaway. “The 2013 wave season purchases are off the chart. The luxury segment is trending high with a 60 percent growth on average and river cruising continues to show the most demand with sales up 75 percent. The overall purchase mix is expanding with land tours continuing to increase our piece of the pie.”
Cruise Planners said more than 400 agents attended its first mid-year conference during the ship’s inaugural activities in New York City. The company released a number of new programs, including the new Cruise Watcher tool that tracks when a specific cruise line, price or sailing becomes available and automatically alerts the customer.
