Cunard Cruise Line Adds Crosby, Stills & Nash Performances to September Voyage
Concerts have become a big part of the entertainment on cruise ships, and the caliber of performers booked for these journeys has risen considerably over the years.
According to Gene Sloan of USAToday.com, British cruise line Cunard Line is advertising that Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Crosby, Stills & Nash will be performing on the Queen Mary 2 in September.
The Grammy Award-winning trio will play three exclusive concerts for the passengers during the September 4-11 journey from New York to Southampton, England. The performances will take place in the ship’s Royal Court Theatre, and the members of the band will be available for autographs and a Q&A session, according to Cunard’s official website.
The band is expected to play many of their hits, including "Teach Your Children," "Southern Cross" and "Wooden Ships," per USAToday.com.
While the younger generation of travelers may not appreciate the magnitude of Cunard Line booking Crosby, Stills & Nash, the baby-boomer generation that frequents these voyages knows the band and can appreciate the music.
Cruise lines are always looking for an edge to entice tourists to use their company for the next vacation, and the addition of Crosby, Stills & Nash should result in many fans of the band’s music booking a ticket for the journey.
Cunard Line made a shrewd business decision adding Crosby, Stills & Nash to its lineup, and it should help with the mainstream marketability of the cruise.
