Cunard Launches The New York Times Insights Cruise
Cunard Lines is always on the cutting edge of providing enriching entertainment aboard its cruise ships, and the company has done it again by teaming up with The New York Times to provide expert speakers for the award-winning Insights program.
According to the Cunard official website, the Queen Mary 2 will host experts from The New York Times who will speak at symposia during the voyage across the Atlantic Ocean from New York to London.
The cruise will take off from port on Jan. 3, 2016 and has been dubbed by the company as “The New York Times Insights Cruise.”
Cunard North America president, Richard Meadows, spoke via a press release about the addition of the newspaper and its editorial staff to the voyage:
“We are thrilled to collaborate with The New York Times to curate such an enriching and entertaining travel adventure. This will be an exciting enhancement to our Cunard Insights program, with a caliber of experts that will surely spark a stimulating and thought-provoking experience for our guests.”
On board during the voyage will be foreign correspondent Clyde Haberman, science writer John Schwartz, senior writer Peter H. Lewis, investigative journalist David Cay Johnston and national security reporter Michael Schmidt, according to the company’s website.
If attending the symposia isn’t enough for travelers, Cunard is offering a special package that would include a tour of The New York Times newsroom, a brunch and additional on-board activities. There is a 100-guest limitation on this option.
In addition to The New York Times Insights Cruise, there will also be experts from the newspaper on every eastbound transatlantic crossing of the Queen Mary 2 in 2016, providing symposia on different topics.
