Most people don’t equate the lazy, hazy days of summer with planning winter travel but there’s never been a better time to think about where you’ll be spending the holidays and ringing in the New Year.
While some may head off to snowy ski slopes, why not try something different and spend the season exploring warmer climes and getting the Royal treatment. For every sailing embarking in December, passengers can experience an entire array of festive programming, holiday treats and family merriment onboard the entire Royal Caribbean fleet.
Each ship is transformed into a magical winter wonderland as the Centrum, Royal Esplanade or Royal Promenade is turned into a snowy paradise. Ships are appointed in festive holiday decorations guaranteed to put you in the holiday mood, and so as not to miss the great family traditions from home, guests are invited to take part in the time-honored tradition of lighting the tree on each sailing.
The younger set will be thrilled to learn that they will be sailing with Santa and his elves for the end all, be all of Christmas celebrations. Families can attend story time with the elves and help their little ones draft letters on special holiday-themed stationary to the man in the red suit, too. And if that isn’t enough, the Holly Jolly Holiday Parade with Santa and his elves is sure to provide enough perfect holiday photo ops to keep Instagram and Facebook accounts populated with adorable pictures well into the next year.
Families can spend quality time engaging in caroling or making the perfect ornament to hang on the tree and remind them of their special holiday at sea.

The family fun doesn’t end there, either. There’s plenty more including holiday activity books to keep little ones busy, holiday trivia games, classic holiday movies and Adventure Ocean Arts and Crafts. Looking for a little onboard adventure? Then it’s time to set off on the ultimate in holiday scavenger hunt where the entire family can join in the fun while exploring the ship and competing for exciting holiday prizes.
Each ship will offer passengers the opportunity to attend midnight Catholic Mass, and a special Mass on Christmas Day, as well as Interdenominational Christmas services. For those celebrating Hanukkah, each sailing will feature a lighting of the Menorah, and a cantor or rabbi will be onboard to lead Hanukkah services.
And when it’s time to ring in the New Year, you can be sure that the hottest celebration can be found on board the Royal Caribbean fleet. Passengers are invited to dress up and party the night away at ship-wide parties. And, when the clock strikes 12, passengers will be able to revel in a balloon and confetti drop, while enjoying complimentary champagne and party favors.
Added extras abound while onboard, too, including Holiday Suites Gift, the Cruise Compass Holiday version and the Adventure Ocean Holiday Compass.
