Several areas aboard Disney Cruise Line's Disney Dream cruise ship will undergo a transformation this fall when the vessel dry docks in Freeport, Bahamas, the cruise line announced on Tuesday.
The three-week project will run from October 4, 2015 through October 24, 2015, with the renovated ship debuting October 26, 2015 during a four-night voyage from Port Canaveral, Florida, to the Bahamas.
In addition to multiple youth areas, the enhancements will include an adult retreat. The Satellite Falls water feature on Deck 13 will consist of a circular splash pool with plenty of seating and shade.
However, the new Star Wars area, Disney Infinity interactive space, Vanellope’s Sweets & Treats and Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique are likely to steal the show for younger guests.
The Star Wars play area will be open to guests ages three to 12, while the sweet shop is designed for families in search of ice cream, candy and other treats, including handmade gelato. The shop's theme will be inspired by 2012's Wreck-It Ralph. The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique makeover salon will also be open to guests ranging from ages three to 12 and will house the Pirate League on pirate party night on select sailings.
Among the highlights of the Disney Infinity space will be the immersive Toy Box area.
Disney Parks on Twitter provided an early glimpse of what passengers can expect to find on the Disney Dream later this year.
Boasting more than a dozen decks, the Disney Dream can carry as many as 4,000 passengers. After the enhanced ship makes its debut in October 2015, it will continue to sail three- and four-night voyages between Port Canaveral and the Bahamas throughout 2015 and 2016.
