Fathom's Marketing Gets Boost From Industry Vet Maurice Zarmati

Carnival Corporations' newest brand, Fathom, announced the appointment of cruise industry veteran Maurice Zarmati Friday. 

In his new role, the Cruise Lines International Association Hall of Famer will assist Fathom in reaching a new and broader audience.

Fathom President Tara Russell described Zarmati as an "incredible resource" for the social impact travel company, adding that his "first-hand knowledge and multicultural expertise will complement our current programs supporting travel professionals."

In a statement, Carnival Corporation CEO Arnold Donald said Zarmati brings "an insider's perspective on the exciting journey from start-up to industry-leading global venture."

"His insight and relationships are a great addition to our Fathom team," Donald added.

Boasting more than four decades of experience in the cruise industry, Zarmati has served in executive-level positions for Carnival Cruise Line and Costa Cruises. In addition to those roles, Zarmati has provided consulting services to a variety of cruise lines and suppliers, offering insight in a variety of key areas. 

Most recently, Zarmati was hired as a cruise consultant for Fusion, a company that specializes in helping clients optimize their digital retailer websites.

"The Fathom team is doing something remarkable — it’s harnessing the assets and resources of the world’s largest travel and leisure company for the greatest possible transformative impact, globally," Zarmati said in a statement of his own. "It is gratifying to be on the ground floor of building something that will for the first time provide travelers the opportunity to build community with like-minded travelers, become immersed in another culture, and work alongside its people to create enduring social impact."

Fathom is scheduled to begin sailing to the Dominican Republic and Cuba in spring 2016.
