How You Can Win a Free Cruise During Plan a Cruise Month

In order to increase awareness of the breadth of cruise vacations available, Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) is celebrating October 2016 as Plan a Cruise Month by repeating its Cruise Smile sweepstakes.
“Plan a Cruise Month is an opportunity for travelers to plan and book an incredible cruise vacation and showcases the unlimited choices our industry offers for every type of traveler,” said Cindy D’Aoust, president and CEO, CLIA. “With more cruise vacation options than ever before, CLIA and the cruise community are excited to engage with new and seasoned cruisers to help them explore all that cruise travel offers.”
The holistic campaign features not only the contest for a chance for a lucky winner to select a free cruise every week, but it’s also a promotional opportunity for cruise lines to entice travelers with their latest deals, a number of which have already been touted here. In this way, consumers and travel agents alike have access to some of the year’s best specials and can learn about many different cruise lines and onboard lifestyles in the process.
The Cruise Smile contest especially captivates the public by inviting them to share a photo of them smiling while dreaming about 31 cruises in four distinct categories: family-friendly, cultural exploration, fun in the sun and exploring nature.
Entering is simple. Participants need only post a Cruise Smile photo to Twitter, Instagram or directly at the campaign’s website, www.CruiseSmile.org, using #CruiseSmile and #sweepstakes hashtags through October 31, 2016. They can even tag their friends and visit and enter daily for extra chances to win. At the end of each week, a winner will be able to choose a free cruise from the period’s featured cruise category or theme. Four cruise vacations will be awarded by the end of the month.
Contest cruise lines featured during the month include AmaWaterways, Avalon Waterways, Carnival Cruise Line, CroisiEurope River Cruises America, Crystal Cruises, Cunard, Disney Cruise Line, Holland America Line, MSC Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises, Paul Gauguin Cruises, PONANT, Princess Cruises, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Royal Caribbean International, Tauck, Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection and Windstar Cruises.
As a social media-centric campaign, Cruise Smile engages with a broad list of demographics, particularly younger generations and millennials, one of the fastest growing markets for cruise lines and travel agents to tap, but perhaps more importantly, it educates potential cruisers that there is a cruise for every personality and every wallet. It also encourages consumers to employ the services of a CLIA-Certified Cruise Specialist that can be found at cruising.org/cruise-vacationer/plan-a-cruise/clia-agent-finder.
