Expedition cruises are getting even more exciting thanks to Hurtigruten's newest partnership with Blueye Robotics for underwater drones.
Blueye Robotics is a Norway-based company that has crafted the Blueeye Pioneer series of underwater drones that will be available to guests aboard Hurtigruten's newest MS Roald Amundsen and MS Fridtjof Nansen hybrid-powered cruise ships.
Adding to their overall experience, passengers will be able to see video and images from their adventures below the surface. Useful content will even be made available to scientists as well.
Meanwhile, the line has also enhanced its "How to Hurtigruten: Amundsen Explorer Club" program for training in the company's complete portfolio. This new agent certification program will better assist travelers discovering the line.
"We've reimagined the program to be as much of an adventure for the specialists as it is for their clients," said Gordon Dirker, Managing Director of Hurtigruten North America, in a press release.
"Travel agents are our priority and with this fresh new program, we can equip them with the most up-to-date information on our company, destinations and ships-helping them to inform their clients about Hurtigruten's exploration travel. Additional updates include our hybrid ship- the MS Roald Amundsen - and customer profile technology; an advanced tool for agents to identify potential clients who enjoy Hurtigruten."
Interactive training modules let agents explore Hurtigruten's fleet as well as locales such as Norway, Antarctica, Svalbard, U.S. and Canada, Central America, South America, Northern Africa, Caribbean, Greenland, Iceland and Europe.
Agents who finish the certification program will be featured as Hurtigruten Certified Specialists on the brand's website. The page will, in turn, refer potential customers to the line's most trained travel professionals and loyal partners.

Additional certified agent perks include a $100 gift card after their first reservation, personalized certificates of achievement, a downloadable medal of honor for email signature use, free trade-specific e-newsletters subscription, preferred agency listing on Hurtigruten.us and more gifts.
This all comes on top of existing commission opportunities.
