Thinking of taking a cruise this fall? That’s perfect timing, because Holland America has some great options from which you can choose.
Especially for you leaf-peepers.
Holland America has a variety of upcoming cruises that offer you the chance to explore many beautiful and exciting destinations in Canada and New England.
There are the Canada & NE Discovery tours, available in either a seven-day or 14-day format. Departure ports are located in Boston or Montreal. The week-long trip goes from one city to the other one-way, while the two-week journey does the complete circuit roundtrip. Departure dates are available throughout September and October. Key ports of interest along the way include Quebec City, Sydney, Prince Edward Island, and Halifax. A number of shore excursions—including a variety of great tours in and around Boston—are also available. There is also a 10-day version of that trip, leaving from Montreal on October 15 and arriving in New York City.
If you hurry, you can still book your trip aboard the ms Zuiderdam for a 10-day “Colors of Canada and NE” cruise later this month.
As the name implies, this trip is all about taking in the wonders that Mother Nature offers at this time of year, including spectacular colorful fall foliage. This cruise departs from New York City and travels to Quebec City, with stops at numerous ports of interest along the way, including Newport and Prince Edward Island. While onboard, you will also pass by countless amazing examples of fall scenery, making for some rare photo opportunities you won’t want to miss.
Additional NYC excursions and activities are also available. Plus, this cruise also includes a stop in Bar Harbor, Maine—which personifies everything you envision about the ideal quaint New England town. It’s a great location to take a relaxing stroll, or you can go on a short boat tour to explore the local waterways and shoreline.

In early October, there’s a 12-day Atlantic Coast voyage departing from Quebec City. Take a relaxing trip down the Atlantic shoreline, stopping at beautiful locations like Boston and Bar Harbor along the way. Towards the end of the trip, there’s a stop at Port Canaveral, Florida. Located in the state’s Space Coast region, it’s easy to see how the area got that name. The Kennedy Space Center is nearby, so this is a can’t-miss destination for anyone who has ever dreamed of being an astronaut, or those who are simply interested in space travel. You can view NASA exhibits and even experience a space shuttle launch simulator. This cruise ends at Fort Lauderdale, Florida. There is also a 13-day version of this cruise that departs from Montreal.
All of these trips include everything you would expect from any Holland America trip, including luxurious and comfortable staterooms, a wide range of delicious onboard dining options with selections to accommodate all tastes or dietary needs, exceptional service and exciting entertainment and nightlife. So no matter which trip or itinerary you choose, you can be sure that your cruise will promise to be the unforgettable trip of a lifetime.
