The Mantis Collection, a group of hotels, lodges and game reserves, launched a river cruise program on the Zambezi and Chobe rivers in Southern Africa near where Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe meet.
The program is launching with a fleet of four river cruise boats. Three boats were operated by the Oxenham family for 18 years as the Ichobezi and the Zambezi house boats. They were purchased in March by Mantis, which refurbished them and is now introducing them as the Chobe Princesses.
The Princesses are now combined with the Zambezi Queen to make up Mantis’ African river cruise fleet, the Zambezi Queen Collection.
The river cruisers are being offered on itineraries that include land-based activities such as visits to local villages, tender boat excursions into Chobe National Park, game viewing, bird watching and fishing, as well as day trips to Livingstone, Zambia, to see Victoria Falls.
