MSC Cruises' innovation in luxury is coming to the Mediterranean in 2018 with the announced launch of the MSC Seaview.

The sister ship to the MSC Seaside (to be launched in December 2017), the Seaview is the second of the next-generation smart cruise ships planned by MSC. Built by Italian shipbuilding group Fincantieri, the Seaview is being designed to bring guests closer to the sea in every conceivable way.

The new generation of ships will feature the highest ratio of outdoor space-per-guest of any ship currently at sea, and has been inspired by a pioneering beach condo concept with special design elements that allow guests to make the most of the warmer climates the ships will serve-eating, drinking and relaxing outdoors in the Mediterranean sunshine with some of the best sea views in the world.

The ships will also feature an increased number of balcony staterooms, sea views and public areas, with every element carefully planned to allow guests to make the most of the sea and the sunshine and a 360-degree promenade with glass parapets that runs around the entire ship serving as a recreation area where guests can stroll in the open air or enjoy the ship's on-board dining and entertainment.

In addition to the ship's aesthetic features, the Seaview will feature technological advances to make cruising more convenient and enjoyable for travelers. Near-field communication via cruise card, bracelet or smartphone will provide opportunity for location of lost guests or children as well as statement access and onboard payment. Interactive touchscreens will revolutionize the way guests book excursions and entertainment.

All this in addition to the top-tier accommodations, food, award-winning entertainment, activities, service, shore excursions and relaxation guests have come to expect from MSC.

Sales for MSC Seaview are currently open exclusively to MSC Voyager Club members, who can receive 5 percent off of the early booking fare on top of their standard 5 percent Voyagers Club discount. Sales will open to the general public on July 18. The starting price is $699 per person, plus taxes and fees.

The Seaview will have three major ports of embarkation - Genoa, Marseille and Barcelona - making it easy for guests to embark in the city that is most convenient for them and will call in six ports during a seven-night cruise, with only one day at sea. Ports of call include, Genoa, Naples, Messina, Valleta, Barcelona and Marseille.
