MSC Divina Visits New York City to Show Off for Travel Agents
MSC Cruises may be best known for its luxurious ships sailing the Mediterranean, but one of the company’s most impressive vessels, the MSC Divina, made waves this week by holding its maiden New York City call.
According to MSC Cruises USA, the MSC Divina made its stop in NYC on April 29 and April 30 to give over 900 travel agents a chance to explore the beautiful ship, which is heading to the Mediterranean for the summer. It will return to its Miami homeport starting in November 2015.
The call in New York City was so special because it was one of the first times many travel agents had the chance to get onboard the vessel and truly see its amenities. To celebrate the moment, Captain Pier Paola Scala, MSC vice president Elizabeth Shearin and Ports America general manager Kenneth Winkler exchanged plaques and keys in a traditional ceremony.
In addition to presentations from MSC officials Ken Muskat and Rick Sasso, the company also unveiled its new booking engine for travel agents, MSC Book. Agents participated in a demo session and were able to test out the system.
The company is hoping to entice travel agents into considering the ultramodern and elegant MSC Divina when helping tourists choose their eventual holiday destinations. Add in the new MSC Book, and the company is offering an enticing package.
