New Civilian and Military Cruise Deals

More cruise deals are on their way in May to celebrate National Military Appreciation Month with military and civilian savings alike.
Carnival Cruise Line
For the National Military Appreciation Month of May, Carnival Cruise Line is offering special discounts and perks to active and retired service members. The company’s military rates are supplemented with a $50 onboard credit per cabin and a two-category upgrade.
Qualifying guests can even reserve up to two extra cabins with the same bonuses and pricing applied. The promotion is good towards cruises scheduled to sail between August 2016 and April 2018 if booked within May 2016.
French America Line
The gratuity special applies to 10-day cruise-tours with included $16 per person per day for onboard staff and $5 per person per day for Traveler Collection shore excursions. The deal applies to cruises leaving before December booked by June 30.
Also, travel agents will be provided 15 percent in commissions for reservations made in 2016, and those who book 10 or more guests on a single 2016 voyage will get additional perks from its Freedom of Choice program such as additional commissions and onboard credits.
Norwegian Cruise Line
Norwegian Cruise Line is promoting a new “Free at Sea” offer for families and more. Through May 22, 2016, family travelers will get a free 50-photo package and a $100 arcade play credit. Also, guests reserving a five day or longer cruise in an oceanview, balcony or mini-suite cabin choose one of three perks: either free Unlimited Beverages, free shore excursion credits or free Wi-Fi. Plus, with the “Friends & Family Sail Free” offer, third and fourth passengers in the same stateroom are not charged on select sailings.
What’s more, guest reserving a suite or The Haven by Norwegian room will get four perks: free Unlimited Beverages, free Specialty Dining package, free shore excursion credits and free Wi-Fi. In conjunction with the benefits above, the combined savings can total up to $2,500 in value.
Specifically for the Pride of America in Hawaii, those who reserve a seven-day cruise also through May 22, 2016 in any cabin category up to a balcony will get the same free 50-photo package and $100 arcade credit, and those in a balcony cabin will also enjoy one of three perks: a free one-night pre-cruise hotel stay, a free Specialty Dining Package or free pre-paid gratuities for the first and second passengers in the room.
Or those in suites will receive four extra perks: a free one-night pre-cruise hotel stay, a free Specialty Dining Package, free pre-paid gratuities for the first and second guests in the cabin and free $50 per port shore excursion credits in up to four ports.
Last but not least, cruises in Europe can be reserved through May 31, 2016 in an inside, oceanview, balcony or mini-suite room with round-trip air, transfers and a one night pre-cruise hotel stay packages beginning at $1,999. Those who book the package will get two of four perks: free Unlimited Beverages, free Specialty Dining package, free shore excursion credits or free Wi-Fi.
Luxury line Silversea Cruises is running a couple of its own promotions starting with $199 business class air upgrades each way for certain Mediterranean cruises. This is available from more than 50 U.S. and Canadian cities to 18 select sailings reserved through June 10, 2016. The bonus perk is in addition to the following “Most Exclusive All-inclusive” offers:
• Roundtrip economy flights and transfers
• 2-night pre-cruise hotel stay and transfers
• Free Silver Shore Select excursions
• Free Wi-Fi (also available on all 2016 sailings)
Plus, six voyages aboard the Silver Discoverer expedition ship can be upgraded with roundtrip economy flights at a promotional rate of $499, also from over 50 U.S. and Canadian cities. Available itineraries are scheduled in October, November and December to Asia and the Indian Ocean.
Providing an effective 50 percent savings, solo travelers can enjoy select Star Clippers voyages to the Mediterranean, Caribbean and Asia in 2016 and 2017 without single supplement costs. The reduced rates are good on all three of the fleet’s ships for reservations made by May 31, 2016.
