Norwegian Cruise Line announced that its 2017 cruises to Cuba will go on sale this week, starting at $699 per person.
The news comes less than two weeks after Norwegian announced it had received permission from the Cuban government to operate cruises to the Caribbean island nation.
The Norwegian Sky, the largest cruise ship currently scheduled to sail to Cuba, will sail five, four-day cruises from Miami to Cuba beginning in May 2017. The cruises will include an overnight stop in Havana.
The ship will depart on its first cruise to Havana May 1, with additional departure dates scheduled for May 8, 15, 22 and 29.
In addition to the Cuban capital, the Norwegian Sky will call at Great Stirrup Cay, Norwegian's private island destination in the Bahamas.
Norwegian said that it will offer Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC)-compliant shore excursions allowing guests to experience historical sites such as Old Havana and meet locals through people-to-people exchanges.
