Paul Gauguin Cruises is again offering the highly acclaimed Ambassadors of the Environment Family program free on the Dec. 21, 2017, seven-night, Tahiti & the Society Islands holiday voyage aboard the m/s Paul Gauguin.
The program, valued at $329 per child, will introduce children ages 9 to 17 to the extraordinary wonders of French Polynesia through direct, hands-on, interactive learning under the guidance of expert Ocean Futures Society naturalists.
Families taking part in this flexible program can select from a host of onboard activities and excursions that will introduce them to the rich culture of Polynesia and its natural wonders. Through daily excursions, Ambassador participants can experience for themselves Polynesia’s many coral reefs, volcanic islands, forest ecology and the sharks and rays that ply the nearby waters. Participants will also learn about Polynesian dance and food while learning key lessons about living a sustainable lifestyle and protecting fragile ecosystems the world over.
Developed by Jean-Michel Cousteau, Dr. Richard Murphy and the education team at Ocean Futures Society, the program offers courses all over the world that educate children on timeless, universal ecological principles. Among the topics spotlighted by the program are basic principles of ecology, biodiversity, ecological jobs of key species within ecosystems, metaphors between human cities and natural ecosystems, energy, waste, sustainability in nature and human communities, environmental conservation and various types of connections such as person to person, land to sea, creature to creature and present to future.

Designed to connect participants of all ages with nature and inspire them to protect it, the program empowers each of its participants to take action to promote sustainable living in their communities at home, thus becoming Ambassadors of the Environment. The Ambassadors Program aims to inspire everyone to protect natural resources and to live in an environmentally responsible manner.
The 7-night Tahiti & the Society Islands holiday cruise departs Papeete, Tahiti, and sails to Huahine, Taha'a (Motu Mahana), Bora Bora (overnight), and Moorea (overnight) in the Society Islands and includes complimentary access to Paul Gauguin Cruises’ two exclusive retreats — Motu Mahana, an islet off the coast of Taha'a, and a private beach in Bora Bora. At Motu Mahana, passengers can take in a relaxing day of watersports, Polynesian activities, a barbecue feast, and cocktails from full-service and floating bars. Bora Bora, meanwhile, beckons passengers to relax on a white-sand beach and enjoy refreshments, volleyball and snorkeling in crystal-clear waters.
Cruise fares start from $5,545 per person and include roundtrip airfare from Los Angeles. The third guest in a stateroom sails free (cruise only). This offer can be combined with the line's "Best Summer Offer, Ever" promotion which features a $500 per-stateroom Shipboard Credit and reduced deposit of $250 per person. The Shipboard Credit can be used to indulge in a spa treatment in Deep Nature Spa, purchase a souvenir in La Boutique or book a shore excursion aboard The Gauguin.
