Cruise ship entertainment is continuously being elevated to new heights, and Princess Cruises' partnership with Oscar-, Tony- and Grammy-winning composer Stephen Schwartz is a testament to that trend. Following the reveal of his first "Magic to Do" production show for the line is his second - "Born to Dance" - coming this fall to the Star Princess and shortly after to the Grand Princess and Golden Princess in early 2017.

This time around the musical will be a tribute to Broadway choreographers and hit dance numbers, crafted by Schwartz and his acclaimed team of creatives. The show is created and directed by Daniel C. Levine who has made appearances in "Mamma Mia!," "Little Shop of Horrors," "Jesus Christ Superstar," "Chicago" and "Les Miserables." Also on the creative team are choreographer Al Blackstone ("So You Think You Can Dance"), musical director Bryan Perri ("Wicked"), costume designer William Ivey Long ("Cinderella") and more.

"Dan Levine, creator and director of 'Born to Dance,' inspired me with his vision of a show that pays tribute to the larger-than-life choreographers who have shaped Broadway and the dancers whose passion brings their work to life," said Schwartz. "I was honored to propose this show to Princess and for Dan and I to work closely with them refining its structure and song list, assembling a world-class creative team and securing the participation of some of Broadway's most accomplished choreographers and dancers."

"Born to Dance" will showcase songs from shows such as "West Side Story," "A Chorus Line" and "Chicago," and celebrated choreographers will include Bob Fosse, Jerome Robbins and Gower Champion. The performance will dive into what it's like to be a professional dancer. Making virtual appearances in the show will be choreographers and dancers Andy Blankenbuehler ("Hamilton"), Rob Ashford ("Evita") and Karen Ziemba ("Chicago").

"Celebrating the role dance plays on Broadway through famous musical hits from some of the most famous Broadway shows in history was Stephen's vision for the highly-anticipated second musical production in our partnership," said Adrian Fischer, vice president, entertainment experience for Princess Cruises. "'Born to Dance' will no doubt deliver an uplifting, feel-good show with our guests leaving the theater feeling energized, happy and nostalgic after enjoying dance performed to so many beloved Broadway songs."

Princess Cruises partnership with Stephen Schwartz is a multiyear endeavor to bring four total new musical productions to the fleet of ships over the next few years as part of the brand's "Come Back New" goals.
