Princess Cruises has revealed three new ships that will join its expanding Ocean Medallion Class during the coming years.
The Golden Princess, Crown Princess and Ruby Princess will be the fifth, sixth and seventh ships, respectively, to roll out the wearable technology within the next 18 months.
The interactive platform from Carnival Corporation powered by the Ocean Medallion disc will debut on the Golden Princess and Crown Princess during November 2018 and will launch on the Ruby Princess in January 2019.
The addition of the Golden Princess to the Ocean Medallion fleet also means the enhanced guest experience is coming to Australia.
In addition to speeding up the embarkation process, the new feature allows guests to open their stateroom doors without a key card as well as place food and drink orders to be delivered where they are or where they plan to be later.
"With the addition of Golden Princess to the fleet of Medallion Class ships, we will make available a more personalized vacation to guests sailing in and around Australia," Princess Cruises and Carnival Australia group president Jan Swartz said in a statement. "And, as we continue to enhance our ships with the Ocean Medallion, we do so to further our commitment to providing our guests the most memorable and relaxing vacation."
The Golden Princess is scheduled to return to Melbourne by October 2018 for season sailing through April 2019. Destinations will include the South Pacific, Tasmania, South Australia and New Zealand. The Crown Princess will also be ocean ready by Fall 2018, meaning all of the cruise line's Caribbean passengers will have access to Ocean Medallion.

Meanwhile, the Ruby Princess will cruise the West Coast from Los Angeles during the 2018-19 season.
Ocean Medallion Vacations will debut aboard the Regal Princess on Nov. 13. The technology will eventually expand to the Royal Princess (January 19, 2018), Caribbean Princess (March 18, 2018 ) and Island Princess (May 16, 2018) in the first half of 2018.
Carnival Corporation is likely to expand the technology to some of its other cruise brands down the road as well.
