The iconic Queen Mary 2 cruise ship will be undergoing a major facelift between May and June 2016.
Cunard Line announced that the Queens and Princess Grill suites on the ship would receive enhancements that would provide passengers with the most modern amenities, while still showcasing the liner's signature old world charm.
The changes will impact all 172 Cunard Grill suites, and each will receive a comprehensive restyling. The rooms are being redesigned to maximize space in each suite, and the process also includes adding new rugs and paint that pays homage to the original Queen Mary.
Cunard North America president Richard Meadows released a comment regarding the massive renovations the vessel will undergo early next year:
"Under the moniker, 'Queen Mary 2 Remastered,' there will be a host of innovations and enhancements, further confirming our commitment to invest in luxury on a grand scale. Guests will certainly feel the sense of pride and confidence that the refurbishment will exude, befitting of Queen Mary 2's luxury ocean travel experience."
Not only will the suites be undergoing a massive overhaul, but the Queens Grill or Princess Grill restaurants will also be getting much-needed upgrades. The eating establishments will undergo such dining room improvements as more tables for two, increased space between tables for privacy and additional loose tables for flexibility.
Cunard shared a Queen Mary 2 Remastered promotional video on YouTube:
In addition to the upgrades made to the restaurants, passengers staying in the Grill suites will be treated to the usual luxury and personalized service. Guests in the Queens Grill suites specifically will have a butler attending to their needs and all suites will have a variety of choice in terms of the amenities available.
