Royal Caribbean Announces Holiday Season Cruise Details
Royal Caribbean International is inviting customers to spend their winter vacations this year on one of the company’s Caribbean ships, which will all be celebrating the holiday season this December.
The company announced the details of their "Holiday Extravaganzas at Sea" Monday, showcasing some of the celebrations, activities and other adventures available to passengers.
The holiday season festivities aboard the ships include screenings of classic holiday movies, caroling, arts and crafts, a themed Adventure Ocean youth program and much more. Some ships will even have ice-skating.
For those traveling on the Royal Caribbean vessels featuring the DreamWorks Experience, a cast of popular characters — which includes Po of "Kung Fu Panda;" Shrek, Fiona and Puss in Boots of "Shrek;" and Alex the Lion, Gloria the Hippo and King Julien from "Madagascar" — will be dressed in holiday costumes and interacting with younger guests.
Royal Caribbean senior vice president Mark Tamis released a statement about the company’s dedication to the holiday season:
“We are all about bringing friends and family together to share an amazing vacation experience and what better time to do that than during the holidays. We are excited to be introducing many new onboard festivities that will further inspire holiday cheer. With a wide range of innovative onboard amenities and immersive holiday themed experiences, Royal Caribbean cruises are primed to provide distinct experiences that are ideal for families looking to take the stress out of holiday planning by letting them enjoy a memorable Christmas, Hanukkah or New Year’s holiday at sea.”
In addition to the seasonal themes for the cruise ships and the activities onboard, customers can also receive discounts through the BOGOHO HOHO! holidays promotion. Qualifying customers can receive 50 percent off their travel companion’s bill on all open North American sailings.
Holiday revelers booking trips departing from December 15-31, 2015 or December 15-31, 2016, will be eligible for pre-paid gratuities for the first and second guests, and half off cruise fare for their second guest.
Royal Caribbean’s announcement comes just a few days after Disney Cruise Line outlined its holiday season sailing itineraries and activities for this year.
