Royal Caribbean announced that Harmony of the Seas will be the first ship to feature a Splashaway Bay water park on board. Included at the park will be a slide dubbed The Ultimate Abyss, standing 100 feet tall. The attraction is the thrill that older children and adults are looking for at a water park.
If a 100-foot-tall slide isn't enough to entice guests, the ship also has three water slides called Supercell, Typhoon and Cyclone-together they have been dubbed The Perfect Storm-that will take riders down tubes into the awaiting pool below. The slides stand five stories tall and offer passengers unique views on top of the cruise ship.
The giant slides will be fun for older children, but there will be plenty of activities for kids of all ages, including sea creature water cannons, smaller slides, a gigantic drench bucket and a multi-platform jungle gym.
The official blog of Royal Caribbean shared an image of the water park:
Royal Caribbean's Harmony of the Seas will be the first in a new generation of Oasis class ships that combine architectural innovations and breakthrough technologies to help optimize the sailing experience for passengers.
The ship will debut in May 2016, and will focus on seven-night Western Mediterranean itineraries. The ship will visit ports such as Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca in Spain, Provence in France and Florence/Pisa, Rome and Naples in Italy.
In November 2016, the Harmony of the Seas will then arrive at the ship's homeport at Port Everglades in Florida where it will offer seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean sailings.
