As the Seabourn fleet grows, more new and classic itineraries become available to the luxury cruise line.

Now, Alaska is back on the list after 15 years away.

The Seabourn Sojourn is plowing the waters of the Last Frontier on an "Ultimate Alaskan" cruise to begin a season of 11-, 12- and 14-day voyages. Departures leave from either Anchorage (Seward), Alaska or Vancouver, British Columbia.

"Like our guests, we've been counting down to this season. We're going to offer an Alaska experience with no compromises - an ultra-luxury hospitality environment combined with adventurous off-ship experiences," said Richard Meadows, president of Seabourn, in a press release.

"Our return to Alaska offers a unique opportunity for Seabourn to do what it does best: share the highlights of an extraordinary destination, from postcard-perfect mountains and glaciers, to picturesque frontier towns, to onshore experiences and guided tours today's luxury traveler seeks."

Not only will favorite ports of call and Inside Passage sights be showcased but so too will the line's signature Ventures by Seabourn program. Classic destinations extend to Juneau, Ketchikan and Sitka while special optional experiences feature expedition team-led kayak and zodiac tours.

The intimate 458-guest Sojourn is able to navigate areas not ordinarily accessible to bigger cruise ships. Remote gems will include Alert Bay and Klemtu, which is a town populated by less than 500 Kitasoo Native Band residents and site of a cultural experience exclusive to Seabourn guests.

Other highlights include the forests of the Inside Passage, the glaciers and humpback whales of the Kenai Fjords, as well as Glacier Bay-a UNESCO World Heritage Site-on four sailings.

Ventures by Seabourn will especially come to life in Misty Fjords and Tracy Arm thanks to the chance to experience the local flora and fauna even more up close and personal via kayak and zodiac. Also on hand will be the ship's naturalists, science, wildlife and historical experts.

Complimentary extras on Seabourn's Alaska cruises include cruise line branded all-weather jackets as well as signature experiences such as Seabourn Conversations with guest speakers, a "Caviar on the Ice" deck party and other deck events.
