Not all of Silversea Cruises' news is about its upcoming new Silver Muse in 2017. In fact, the luxury line is making a point of updating its existing fleet to the tune of $170 million as well. Following the updated Silver Discoverer, is the rejuvenating of the Silver Whisper.

Built in 2001, the Whisper now sports a new look in time for its 116-day world cruise from San Francisco to Monte Carlo departing on January 6.
Among the improvements made during the ship's dry-dock in the Bahamas are new carpets in every suite and new wall treatments and refreshed wood flooring across the restaurants, as well as Connoisseur's Corner, Panorama Lounge, Spa and Beauty Salon. Of the dining rooms, The Restaurant and La Terrazza also received newly upholstered chairs, and the Observation Lounge got a new marble-topped bar, wood display cases, plus new wood paneling and wood accents.
Rounding out the enhancements are two new whirlpools at the pool deck and new synthetic turf at the jogging and spa decks.

"Our goal with this refurbishment was to refresh Silver Whisper's signature style and honor her superb legacy of hosting our iconic world cruises by revitalizing the onboard experience for our guests," said Roberto Martinoli, Silversea's CEO. "Silver Whisper's enhancements are a perfect complement to the superior level of personalized service and warm hospitality that our guests receive on every voyage, whether it's a seven-day Mediterranean sailing or an around-the-world adventure."
Next up in the refurbishment schedule, is the conversion of Silver Cloud for deployment in the Silversea Expeditions fleet. The ship will be extensively remodeled and remade into an ice-class vessel capable of discovering polar regions in late 2017.
