With five new small ship itineraries in 2019 and a host of other additions, Tauck will increase its passenger volume by 40 percent in 2019.
The growth path was projected by the company last year, but few could've expected that so much of the growth would come so soon and in combination with the company's 25th anniversary.
"Our very first cruise in 1993 was our 'Treasures of the Mediterranean' itinerary," said Catharine Bonner, Senior Vice President for Tauck River & Small Ship Cruising. "Today, we still consider our small ship cruises to be expertly curated treasures that reveal the true destination's story of each place they visit."
With that in mind, Tauck's treasure chest is getting a lot bigger for customers in 2019.
In addition to the new itineraries, Tauck plans to increase the number of ships featured in their fleet as well as sailing approximately 50 percent more charters with their partner cruise lines.
2019 will also see a dramatic expansion of Tauck's partnership with Ponant.
The new cruises coming in 2019 include a nine-day "Arctic Allure: Spitsbergen and the Midnight Sun" which will feature a seven-night cruise aboard Ponant's Le Boreal, the 11-day "Legendary Scottish Isles, Edinburgh and Glasgow" with seven nights aboard Ponant's Le Champlain and the 20-day "Cruising Down Under," which will pair Tauck's signature sightseeing on Australia with a nine-night cruise about the Le Champlain.
The additions will also put Tauck in the North American cruising business with an eight-day Alaskan itinerary and a 12-day itinerary along the Great Lakes between Toronto and Chicago.
In 2019, Tauck will offer 22 itineraries aboard a fleet of 13 ships.
