Which is America's Most Trusted Cruise Line?
Reader's Digest magazine readers have spoken, naming Carnival Cruise Line America's Most Trusted Cruise Line.
The recognition is the result of a poll that surveyed more than 4,500 readers. Respondents were asked to rate brands across more than three-dozen different categories based on key traits like quality, value and reliability.
Carnival received the most votes of any cruise line.
"For most of the 20th century, cruises were considered luxury vacations for the very rich. In 1972, Israeli businessman Ted Arison founded Carnival Cruise Lines with a vision of making cruises accessible to everyone," Reader's Digest states. "Its first ship, the Mardi Gras, a secondhand ocean liner, only had enough fuel for a one-way trip from Miami to San Juan. In 2014 Carnival carried nearly 4.4 million guests, the most of any company in the cruise industry."
Boasting a fleet of 24 ships, Carnival sails to many of the world's most popular destinations, including the Caribbean. What's more, the company has remained on the cutting edge when it comes to onboard entertainment.
The brand's Seuss at Sea program and LIVE concert series are just two examples.
Plus, this week, Carnival unveiled the Fly2Fun program that will allow passengers to select the most convenient flights and customize them based on their itinerary.
"Getting away from the stresses of everyday life is more important than ever and we take a great deal of pride that our guests entrust us with their vacations which provide them with an opportunity to relax, reconnect and recharge with their friends, families and loved ones," Carnival's president Christine Duffy said in a statement. "Being named America’s Most Trusted Cruise Line by the readers of such a respected publication like Reader’s Digest is a wonderful validation of these efforts."
Carnival and other award winners are featured in the October issue of Reader's Digest. Other travel category winners include Southwest Airlines, Hilton Hotels & Resorts and Marriott International.
