Is it time for a spring cleaning of the soul? The weather is finally warming and spring has arrived right on time, and if that means a mind and spirit rejuvenation are in order, the options abound. Never have there been so many wellness opportunities available around the world for the mindful wanderer. Below is an eclectic offering of programs at resorts around the world.

Located on Grand Bahama Island, the Grand Lucayan gives guests the chance to embrace wellness at the Senses Spa & Fitness Center. Treatment specialists are on hand to provide guests with exotic, island-inspired treatment options. Walking paths located throughout the property and along the beach are available for jogging, power walking and early morning strolls.

British Columbia

Slow down and reset at Hollyhock, a “lifelong learning center” on the island of Cortes in British Columbia. It is the perfect place to restore and reconnect with nature and participate in programs that promote wellness, mindfulness, creativity and spirituality. The experience can be as intense or as relaxing as guests desire with fun activities offered throughout the stay, including kayaking, massage, strolling organic gardens and eating freshly harvested meals.

At Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort visitors will find an exclusive concept that turns your hotel room into a wellness retreat. The health-conscious program is available to guests booking the recently renovated "Palace Wellness Suites." Rooms include direct, swim-up access to a private pool, an expansive terrace, CHI beauty amenities, aromatherapy and room diffusers, herbal teas and premium coffees via personal Lavazza machines, dawn-simulating alarm clocks, a pillow menu and hydrotherapy salts and natural soaps for use in the whirlpool tub. Each room also has an “Awe Sports Kit,” complete with a yoga mat, jump rope and dumbbells.

Guests have use of the property’s gymnasiums and can participate in a lineup of fitness activities, including yoga, CrossFit-style classes, traditional spinning and Pilates. Palace Wellness Suites guests can also participate in aqua spinning with a private instructor in the private pool.

Las Vegas

I think the jury’s still out when it comes to wellness on the Las Vegas Strip, but, according to Spa Bellagio’s director of operations Tammi Furce, it’s a new trend in Sin City.

“Wellness from within will be a focal point of this trend with treatments heavy on cellular restoration and deep stretching, such as Spa Bellagio’s Watsu and AquaStretch therapies – the only treatments of their kind on The Strip.”

Guests can take advantage of Bellagio’s Next Level Wellness Sessions, which include personalized experiences tailored to their specific physical, health and wellness goals.

Los Cabos

The power of the moon is a new trend in wellness. At the Luna y Mar Spa at The Resort at Pedregal, signature moon treatments target the varying energies of the lunar phases. Guests can experience the Awakening Moon body treatment that reflects the new moon phase with renewal and self-discovery benefits.

North Carolina

At the Umstead Hotel and Spa in Cary, N.C., near Raleigh, a wellness sanctuary and five-star retreat awaits visitors. The Flower Hammam Ritual will detoxify the soul and stressed skin from a long winter. The ritual uses rich essential oils and begins with an exfoliation. You then dip into a warm white clay bath, which cleanses and detoxifies the skin. There are rich aromas of Moroccan mint tea and orange quince mist that complement the sensory experience. The ritual concludes with an application of cardamom amber oil designed to warm and relax the body.

The recently established Seacotherapy in Aberdovey, Wales, is a coastal wellness retreat that combines a little bit of exploration, adventure, creativity and therapeutic practices. Using the sea as its inspiration, the retreat provides three-day breaks that incorporate psychotherapy techniques, creative activities, mindfulness workshops and a variety of activities, such as stand-up paddleboarding, boat trips, beach yoga, art classes, swimming, dancing, singing and more.
