5 Ways to Experience Belize This Summer

The official start of summer is just around the corner and with its arrival, the Central American country of Belize gets even more affordable. Low season means big savings on travel but it also means that there is even more to do and see throughout the country. Here are some of the best deals on summer vacations to Belize.

Seven Nights Diver’s Delight Package: Adventures in Belize is offering visitors the chance to explore the Belize Barrier Reef on diving excursions from Ambergris Caye, the largest island in Belize. Four Nights Snorkel and Kayaking Package: Visitors are invited to discover paradise on Isla Marisol at Glover’s Reef Atoll. The package allows guests to enjoy unique and customized experiences on the remote island with endless scuba diving, snorkeling and kayaking packages starting at $1,415 per person. It includes roundtrip airfare from Belize International Airport to Dangriga, all meals, accommodation, transfers and excursions.

High Adventure in the Jungle: Bring out your adventurous spirit with this high-adventure package. Set out on a rigorous hike into the heart of the Belizean jungle, go river kayaking, try horseback riding, experience a night trek in the jungle and more. The six-day journey includes river and waterfall cave expeditions as well. There is also the opportunity to do an overnight cave expedition that involves a 1 ½-hour hike to a sinkhole that is 300 feet deep. Guests rappel into the sinkhole where they eat lunch before hiking to the cave and setting up camp for the night. Rates start at $1,356 per person.

Maya Ruins Adventure: The mystical ancient Maya culture comes alive on this four-night adventure. Visitors have the chance to explore the historic sites of Xunantunich, Cahal Pech and Tikal, and a full-day voyage underground to “Xibalba,” the ceremonial center of the Maya universe. The experience includes stays at the Caves Branch Adventure Lodge, which is in the heart of the Belizean jungle, and starts at $975 per person.

Jungle and Reef Adventure: This seven-day trip combines the Maya culture with adventure in the jungle to give guests the ideal Belizean experience. Visitors have the chance to tour ancient Maya sites, explore caves, go birdwatching and navigate the Belize Barrier Reef on an unforgettable snorkeling trip. Also included are horseback riding excursions, the Black Hole Drop expedition and a stop at the Belize Zoo. Spend seven nights in a jungle cabana at the Caves Branch Jungle Lodge, starting at $1,581 per person.
